Matthew (10), of St Nicholas Road, recently sealed a two-year contract with Hibs’ under-11 team after impressing scouts when playing for Lanark Thistle Boys Club.

Matthew was one of only 20 boys picked for Hibs under-11s this term, and one of just three from the west of Scotland.

His delighted dad Frank said: “I’m really proud that Matthew has signed for Hibs.

“He has two really good feet and is strong and agile with loads of ability.

“Matthew also has an eye for goal and proves that by scoring a lot from midfield. He loves football and really looks up to Ronaldo. It was through watching Ronaldo that Matthew originally took up football.”
