A LANARK MMA star will make her debut on reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter hoping to be crowned champion in Las Vegas later this year.

Joanne Calderwood will make her first appearance on the 20th season of the show hoping to become UFC’s first ladies strawweight champion.

The show will air in America later tonight (Wednesday) where Joanne will be up against seven other competitors from around the world.

The top two girls will square off on December 12 in the octagon at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas hoping to become champion as millions watch around the world on pay-per-view.

Speaking to the official UFC website, Joanne believes the show is the perfect format to showcase her talents to an American audience.

She said: “It’s a gateway to introduce the division because people will get to know everyone and their personality, so it’s perfect.
