Lanark man James Doolan teaching Thai boxing in Carluke

LANARK United produced their best performance of the season at Barrfields Stadium on Saturday, to knock Premier Superleague side Largs out of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup by a 3-1 scoreline.

Largs started well in this second round tie and took the lead on six minutes when a long throw-in was misheaded into his own net by centre half Chris Walker.

But the big defender recovered well to produce a sterling performance, and he scored at the right end on 35 minutes when his looping header beat the home keeper and dipped under the crossbar.
