Lanark swimmers pick up more medals

LANARK Amateur Swimming Club’s Euan McComish (14) won four titles at the five-day Scottish National Age Group Championships in Aberdeen.

Representing South Lanarkshire Swimming Team, Euan won the 800m freestyle in a new club record of 8mins 56.09secs. He also triumphed in both the 100m and 200m butterfly and on the last day won the 1500m freestyle.

Euan reached five other finals, finishing third in the 400m freestyle.

Among other Lanark members, Erin Snow (10/12) was 2nd in the 200m and third in the 100m, while 13-year-olds Hannah Keenan and Katie Donald were fifth and eighth respectively in the 200m breaststroke. Robyn Patrick was 9th and Katie McIntyre 10th in the 15/16 100m breaststroke.

Billy Davies, Finlay Patrick and Mitchell Stevenson posted personal best times.

In the relay events Katie Donald was part of the South Lanarkshire relay which won bronze in the 4 x 100m medley relay.
