After the meet, Lanark coach Karen Kelly, who was crowned John Gunning Volunteer Award winner at the Scottish Swimming Awards in Aberdeen on Saturday night, said: “Many of the swimmers had only ever competed at Lanark and Larkhall so this was a new challenge which they handled very well.

“The pool staff also commented on the club and said they were the best behaved club that had ever been at Galashiels.

“All the swimmers can be proud of their efforts.”
