Lanark Thai boxer David Aitken wins Scottish under-18 title
AFTER a bruising five-round battle against a taller opponent, Lanark Thai boxing marvel David Aitken landed the prestigious SFMA Scottish Under-18 Championship title.
David (17), a member of Carluke-based club Thaiger Muay Thai, followed the instructions from his corner perfectly as he defeated Cumbernauld fighter Tom Skegbie 4-1 on points to win a belt and medal.
“David has got a lot of guts about him in the ring,” said instructor Ian McCann who has coached the talented youngster for the past eight months.
