Lanark Triathlon Club members prepare for Zurich Ironman

CAN you imagine swimming almost two and a half miles, cycling 112 miles then doing a marathon?

That’s the challenge facing eight members of Lanark Triathlon Club as they prepare to do an Ironman event in Zurich this Sunday.

Club head coach Alan Cardwell will be competing in his fourth Ironman and will be joined by Paul Hill, Jim McFadyen, Scott Marriott, Richard Frame, George Burns, Andy Fish and Stevie Ross.

And Alan and Scott’s daughters Eve and Sophie (both 11) will be taking part in an Iron Kids event.
