Lanark Triathlon Club’s Alan Cardwell wins sportscotland coach award
WORLD Ironman contestant Alan Cardwell has been rewarded for his sterling efforts as head coach of Lanark Triathlon Club.
Alan (44), of Howacre, Lanark, who has overseen a club membership increase of over 300 per cent since taking charge last year, received sportscotland’s Participation Coach of the Year 2011 award.
He said: “The club now has 49 members compared to only 15 back in 2010.”
