Lanark’s James Doolan becomes British MMA champ
FIGHTING on the same bill as Katie Price’s former husband Alex Reid – the cross-dressing cage fighter – didn’t faze Lanarkian James Doolan in his latest British title fight in front of 4500 raucous fans at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena.
James (33), didn’t let the ballyhoo affect him as he stormed to victory over Englishman Spencer Hewitt in just 90 seconds in a BAMMA bantamweight title eliminator on the undercard of Reid’s televised bout against Sam Boo.
“I was in the ring two fights before Alex,” James said.
