Laura’s medal haul

A SIXTH year pupil at Mearns Castle scooped four medals at the Scottish championships this weekend.

Laura McCracken won gold in the under 18 100 metres in 12.66 seconds and bronze in the under 18 200m on Saturday.

The following day, in the under 20 championships, the 17-year-old won bronze in both 200m and triple jump.

This season, Laura has already won the u20 title at the Scottish West district championships in both 100m and 200m.

At the Scottish Schools in Grangemouth, she grabbed another medal, taking bronze in the 100m.

Laura also ran at Cardiff 
and Manchester for the UK women’s league division one, placing six in both 100m 
races while running against seniors.
