Siobhan Lindsay and Sharon Biggins will be part of Clydesdale’s leg of the 190,000km route on Sunday, June 22, a fitting warm-up to this summer’s Games in Glasgow.

Siobhan (48), of Braidwood, said: “I’m slightly embarrassed but honoured to be picked. I plan to savour the moment though.”

And Carluke woman Sharon (42) said: “It is a real privilege and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be picked.”

Neither Siobhan nor Sharon have been given details about exactly where they’ll be running but expect to find out more next month. They were both nominated to carry the Queen’s Baton by Law and District AAC’s Lesley McNicol.
