Lesmahagow bowlers win U17 Lanarkshire Pairs title
THERE has been more success for Lesmahagow Bowling Club youngsters – with a Lanarkshire Pairs title to add to the Scottish Championship won earlier this season.
Ross Meikle (14) and 15-year-old Darrell Hamilton won the Lanarkshire Young Bowlers Association under-17s Pairs title with a convincing victory at Castlehill Bowling Club in Carluke.
The 16-9 scoreline saw the Lesmahagow High School pair win the title by seven shots to follow Ross’s cousin John Meikle and Greg McLaughlin, who made history by becoming the first pair from the club to win the Scottish under-17s pairs title, which was held at Ayr Northfield.
