Lesmahagow Bowling Club’s Christine McLellan wins Clydesdale Ladies Champion of Champions

BLACKWOOD bowler Christine McLellan proved to be the best of the best players from local clubs, by winning the prestigious Clydesdale Ladies Champion of Champions event at Castlehill Bowling Club in Carluke.

Lesmahagow Bowling Club ace Christine (44), a nurse at Lanark Health Centre who has played bowls for 30 years, beat Carluke Champion Anne Hume in the semi-finals before enjoying a final victory over Agnes Davidson of Carstairs BC.

“I was chuffed to bits to win the title because I’ve lost a few finals since last winning it in 2001,” said Christine, of Flinders Way.
