Drew Struthers and his 16-year-old son Andy, of Brownhill Farm, have competed on the Scottish rally circuit this year and love this fast and furious sport.

Drew took part in two events (the Solway Coast and Galloway Hills rallies), while Andy enjoyed a successful eight-rally campaign in the Brick and Steel Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge.

The fifth year Biggar High School pupil finished sixth at Anglesey in his red Nissan Micra in the final race of the season last weekend to finish sixth overall.

Drew said: “Andy has finished fifth and sixth overall in his first two seasons competing at that level, which are pretty good achievements.”

Drew entered a couple of events purely for the fun of competition – driving a yellow Chrysler Sunbeam, he was 11th at the Solway event and 45th in the Galloway Hills.
