Lions’ medal haul

Tryst Lions wrestlers have returned from across the water with a haul of medals.

On Saturday, October 26, four young wrestlers, accompanied by coach David Connelly, competed at the 2013 British Junior Championships held in Limavady, Northern Ireland.

The British Juniors is the most prestigious competition held in Britain for young wrestlers up to the age of 20.

Joe McClusky placed fourth at 36kg and did well against more experienced wrestlers, Ross Connelly came back from the brink of defeat to take silver at 43kg, Taylor McCann won gold at 52kg to retain his British title while Nathan Ferguson won gold at 66kg to claim his first British title.

The club’s next competition is the Aspull Open in Wigan on November 9.
