‘Lok are comeback kings

Beith were first out of the traps. A through ball squirmed to the feet of Paul Frize who finished coolly. The home side doubled their advantage on 29 minutes.

‘Lok reduced the deficit in the 37th minute when Mark McLennan’s ball saw Thomas Sinclair rifle the ball into the roof of the net.

‘Lok gaffer Stephen Docherty introduced Steven Waddell to the proceedings at half-time in a tactical switch that saw him replace Liam McVey. Thomas Sinclair was again denied by the frame of the goal when his free kick rebounded off the junction of post and crossbar.

Iain Diack was involved when parity was restored in the 65th minute as his ball across the area found substitute Steven Waddell unmarked in the box to tuck past Strain.

The visitors took the lead in the 69th minute when the ball broke fortuitously off the Beith defence and allowed Steven Waddell a clean run on goal to roll past the advancing Strain. The game at this point turned into a frenetic battle as Beith looked to break down the Pollok defence.

For Pollok, the manner of the comeback will hope to inspire them as they get ready for their away trip to Dufftown in this Saturday’s Scottish Junior cup-tie.
