A man who has been the scourge of Pollok on many an occasion, Kenny McLean, opened the scoring when he was allowed time and space at the back post.

His strike partner, Andy Reid, doubled the advantage when he was first to react after a Longmuir parry.

David McGowan completed the first half scoring after he broke through the Pollok rearguard to give Longmuir no chance.

Pollok reduced the leeway early in the second period when David Winters looked as though he was running away from goal, but managed to backheel past Beith custodian Adam Strain.

Jamie Darroch pulled another back after the home defence failed to pick up his late run into the penalty area at a corner kick, and the defender diverted his diving header into the Beith net.

The comeback was completed when Winters teed up ‘Lok’s trialist substitute, who controlled the ball on his chest before lobbing a volley over the helpless Strain.
