GHA will look to earn their first National league win when they welcome Selkirk to Braidholm on Saturday.

An 18-14 loss to Peebles, was an improvement on opening day’s 44-0 demolition by Stewart’s Melville, and Saturday’s fixture against Selkirk - who are also winless - is their besthope for a win yet.

GHA head coach Gordon MacPherson told ExtraSport: “We have to stop the lapses in concentration that we had in the last couple of weeks.”

Inchampionship A, Cartha secured a confidence boosting 52-0 win against league bottom dogs West of Scotland.

A brace from both Ross Aitken and Tony Nyangweso, as well as a try each from Iain Cook and Andy Noble helped Cartha to the win. Wayne Burrows kept the scoreboard ticking with his kicking.

Whitecraigs defeated Greenock 32-15 atWest Lodge

Craigs point scorers were tries by Ryan Moffat, Christopher O’Donnell, Jonny Tait and Phil Nicol. Ryan Moffat added 13 from the boot.

On Saturday craigs visit Dalziel and Cartha host Hamilton. Craigs will be without influential back row Stuart Pollock, who leaves the club to play in North Carolina.

At Cartha, legendary New Zealand number eight- he of the famous 47 metre drop goal against England in the 1995 rugby world cup - will host a pre-match lunch at the club.
