2014 Communities is a micro grants programme that aims to award funding to local sports clubs, voluntary and community organisations, community councils, and schools, in order to stimulate participation in grass roots sports and physical activity.

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth MSP Jamie Hepburn has congratulated both groups on their funding success.

He is also encouraging other local organisations to take advantage of this funding which will continue to be available until the Glasgow Commonwealth games in 2014.

He said: “I am sure that this funding will provide a well needed boost to both Cumbernauld Colts Football Club and Glencryan School, and it goes without saying that those who participate in sport with both organisations are set to benefit from this funding too.
