Luke Foss storms to victory at Strathclyde Park

BIGGAR High School pupil Luke Foss stormed to victory by 100m at the St Andrew’s Hospice 6km race around Strathclyde Park, which was contested by 1000 runners.

Law and District AAC member Luke, a 16-year-old S5 pupil at Biggar High, romped home against top athletes including former Scotland internationals.

“It was a remarkable achievement by Luke,” said Biggar High Head of PE Blair Young.

“Every school in Lanarkshire had runners competing and there were adults in it as well.”

Luke, the current Lanarkshire under-17 cross-country champion, also won an 800m bronze at this summer’s Scottish Schools Athletics Championships.
