Managerial merry-go-round at Newlandsfield

POLLOK Football Club are searching for a new boss after Stephen Docherty resigned from his position as manager.

Docherty cited footballing reasons on and off the park as the result for his decision.

A spokesman for the club said:“We are sorry to see Stephen go, but we wish him nothing but the best in all of his future endeavours.”

Frannie McNeil has stepped into the role on an interim basis... Rab Sneddon will be his assistant.

While Brian McGinty has taken on extra coaching responsibilities since the news, he has insisted he wants to remain as a player.

He added: “I was willing to assist the club by taking the team until a new manager was appointed.

“I had no desire to be considered for the role of Manager.”

The southside club are inviting applications for the role to [email protected].

Pollok lost 5-2 to Petershill on Saturday, with Diack and Andreoni scoring for Lok. The result leaves them ninth in the league.
