“Our older players were terrific,” McGhee said.

“We don’t need any lessons like tonight to show us and tell us how important they are to us and how important they’ve been to us.

“We know that.

“I thought Lasley was terrific tonight. In the first half he set the tempo, set the tone.

“Mick (McManus) came and won the first header and he made the first few tackles.

“I thought he had a great game tonight.”

“When it goes to 2-1 the home team are always going to come onto you a wee bit.

“I felt we defended that well. They reined a lot of stuff in but we showed our mettle.

“McManus was tremendous in that 20 minutes. When it needed headed away his head was the one that was popping up.

“I think we should have got the third goal earlier to finish it off.

“We ran away a few times and missed good opportunities.

“I think over the piece we deserved to win the game.”
