Mixed fortune for local bowling clubs

In the latest rounds of the Inter Club Leagues the Cumbernauld teams had differing fortunes.

The Ladies hosted Stirling at the stadium and hopes were high after their success in the away fixture. However it was not to be.

The games was very close throughout most of the match and it was not until the last quarter that Stirling pulled away in the overall scoring, running out winners by 90 pts to 73 pts.

A. Cairnie won 25-13, I. Fleming drew 22-22, M. Wightman lost 10-32, J. Miller lost 16-10

The Senior Gents played Erskine in their latest league match and fared vaewry much better. Right from the start they went into an overall lead which they were never in any danger of losing. Two of the teams lost but managed to keep the score close whilst the other two won in style.

Cumbernauld ran out very deserved winners by 71 pts to 48 pts. Cumbernauld skips:

JB Wilson lost 13-17; J. Lover won 24-8; T. Turnbull lost 12-15, J. Smith won 22-8.

Christmas is fast approaching at the stadium with Christman lunched available at the stadium, the Christmas Card filling up. However we still are in a serious mode, at least for a while, with the last Leagues games in the following weeks and several finals of internal competitions.
