Narrow margin between success and failure

KILSYTH Rangers boss Martin Mooney (pictured) feels the disciplined second-half performance of his side more than made up for some silly mistakes in the first half.

The Duncansfield club, currently topping the Super League First Division, trounced Hurlford United 5-2 on Saturday, but also had a man sent off and conceded a soft goal.

“We were 3-0 up after 26 minutes, but in the next ten minutes we lost a silly goal when our keeper passed when he should have made a clearance and then we had a man sent off.”

Meanwhile, Cumbernauld United boss John Queen is keenly anticipating his squad’s next meeting with East Kilbride after going 1-0 down on Saturday.

“I think we had more than enough to win it and certainly had our chances,” he said. “They had about two chances and scored one while we just couldn’t score, even from a one on one with the keeper. Once they went ahead they just defended.
