n At Lanark JP Court a man of no fixed residence pleaded guilty to begging at the local British Linen Bank. He was fined 10 shillings.

n Miss Jeanie McCulloch was chosen as the 1912 Lanimer Queen by an overwhelming majority of her classmates.

n A Lesmahagow woman appeared at Lanark Sheriff Court charged with perjury. She pleaded guilty and was fined £1 with the alternative of seven days imprisonment.

n News was received that Lord Lamington’s camp at Alar Karsland had been pillaged by brigands. Lord Lamington had been in Persia since mid-January.
