Organisers delighted with success of Tom Scott Road Race

A RECORD 356 runners entered this year’s Tom Scott Road Race - and organisers were delighted with both the entrants and the standard of this year’s race.

Eritrean Tewelde Menlsteab was the victor this time around as he raced round the 10 mile course at Strathclyde Park in a time which was just under 50 minutes.

There were also wins for Gemma Rankin in the women’s 10 mile race, Michael Deason in the men’s 6k and Claire Couper in the women’s 6k.

Organiser Robert Benyon believes the 50th consecutive running of the event, run in memory of the Law athlete who died in 1961, shows the popularity of the race.
