Around 4000 people are expected to flock to the 11th annual Lanark and Renfrewshire and Eglinton point-to-point meeting, Clydesdale’s best attended sporting event.

“I think this is such a popular event because of the work we do in getting companies to come to our hospitality tent,” said organiser Willie Young.

“The support we get from these companies makes it a very social day.

“The hospitality has always been good since the very first year we staged this event. It has continued to improve year by year and now has a prominent place in the Clydesdale sporting calendar.

“I think there will be a big crowd of around 4000. Hopefully we will get some good weather and that will bring them out in spectacular numbers.”
