Record 350 runners contested Tom Scott Road Race

A RECORD 350 runners contested Sunday’s 10 Mile and Round the Loch Tom Scott Road Races, run in memory of the Law athlete killed in a motoring accident in 1961.

The 50th staging at Strathclyde Park in Motherwell saw the 10 Mile race won by Twelde Mengisteab. The Eritrean, a member of Shettleston Harriers, won by 13 seconds in 49mins 55secs.

The Ladies race was won by Kilbarchan’s Gemma Rankin in 57mins 45secs.
