Recruitment drive complete for Braehead

Braehead Clan have completed their roster and have turned their attention to preparing for the new season which begins with a Champions Hockey League match two weeks on Saturday.

Vaxjo Lakers are the visitors to Braehead Arena and they will face Clan’s 21-man roster which was completed this week by the signings of Thomas Nesbitt and Marcus Gotz.

Canadian Newsbitt who has an Italian passport, arrives following a season in the ECHL with Elmira Jackals, where he played 70 games and notched 32 points.

For head coach Ryan Finnerty, it ends what has been a very positive summer and is pleased to get his man as he looks to the pre-season games in Sheffield next weekend.

He said: “We’re pleased to welcome Thomas to the club, he’ll bring some leadership and additional quality to our third line as we look ahead.”

Vaxjo Lakers and ERC Ingolstadt visit Braehead Arena on August 29 and September 5. Tickets are available now via braeheadclan.com, and at the box office.
