Review of Carluke Development Trust Road Races

THERE was a heartwarming sight in the home straight of Sunday’s main five-mile Carluke Development Trust Road Race when 64-year-old Cecilia Heron was guided home by a steward.

This summed up the fine spirit and camaraderie on a day in and around Carluke’s John Cumming Stadium which hosted a main five-mile road race and one-mile family fun run.

Organiser Tom Sneddon, Trust chairman, said: “Cecilia had gone off at a sedate pace and was last in the race as she reached Yieldshields.
