Newly-promoted Glenafton Athletic barely had a chance to warm up before the first of the goals went in after only 90 seconds of play and, such was the quality of the Rabs’ attack, the game was effectively over by the quarter hour mark.

Delighted gaffer Jimmy Lindsay said: “I feel I should apologise to some of our supporters because if they were a wee bit late they will have missed three or four goals. Some of the fans were saying: ‘Can we start the game again so we can see the goals!’

“Seriously though, I’ve never seen anything like that before. Every time we attacked we got a goal and every shot seemed to go in.”

The win leaves Rabs sitting second in the table - just one point off leaders Auchinleck Talbot - but Lindsay warned supporters not to expect a goals landslide in every game.

Rob Roy take on Beith at Adamslie Park this Saturday. Kick-off is at 2pm.
