Outgoing Biggar Rugby Club chief reveals dismay at season being null and voided

Biggar Rugby Club’s first virtual AGM last week, hosted by secretary Mike Booth, saw outgoing president John Bogle give his report, writes Alistair Stewart.

John recorded his pride in being in post over a very successful two years across all sections although he said the disappointment in the SRU decision to render last season null and void to deny Biggar promotion was still very hard to take.

John thanked all those who had given support with special mention to Booth who had fought tooth and nail with the SRU regarding the promotion issues and to retiring senior vice president Dr Doug Ward.

Treasurer Nigel Pacey then said club finances were generally good, with no expenditure at present.

But a large increase in expenditure was expected now that training was about to resume with a probable lag in income as a result of not knowing what type of season would play out.
