Santas do 15-mile walk to raise money for Carluke Thistle AFC
THIS squad of Santas were ‘presented’ with a tough task on Saturday, when they undertook a gruelling 15-mile walk which made it very difficult for them to keep saying: “Yo, ho, ho!” without gasping for breath.
The six-hour walk, from Carluke to Wishaw, Neherton, Overtown and back, was organised by the team’s fund-raising organiser David Gillan. It raised around £300 to support their newly established Carluke Thistle AFC team, towards strips, league fees and insurance costs ahead of their debut campaign in next season’s Carluke and District League.
