Scotia looking to be splash hits in 2016

Members of the Scotia club, based at the Leisuredome, won no fewer than 36 medals at the Scottish Nationals with pride of place going to Laura Shields from the Masters Squad - for 18 years plus swimmers - who became Scottish Masters 1500 metres freestyle champion.

The squad also brought home three medals from the British Nationals while swimmers in the A-squad have also achieved great things.

Andrew Hunter swam in the prestigious Scottish National Short course championships in 100m and Graham Baird, Saul Callan and Ruairi McKinnon have all achieved qualifying times for the Scottish National Age Group Championships to be held at Tollcross in April.

The club hosts its championships prizegiving next month when it will be celebrating over 20 club speed records that have been smashed.

The closely guarded secret regarding the most improved boy and girl swimmers in each age group will also be announced.

There will be a trial on Sunday, January 31, for young swimmers who have completed EDLC swimming lessons level 8 or the equivalent.
