Ewan McGregor announces Scotland’s World Cup squad - which includes a call up for striker Ross Stewart for the first time in four years - in a powerful video.
Scotland’s squad for the World Cup has been announced in a stirring video starring Ewan McGregor.
In the powerful video, McGregor declares: “Our Scotland, you’ve always been an easy country to love… but football, that’s where the heart beats loudest” as a shot shows fans walking past the mural depicting Scott McTominay’s impressive overhead kick in Scotland's World Cup qualifier with Denmark in November 2025.
McGregor continues: “In strangers that become brothers and sisters for 90 minutes. In belief that never leaves. We carry something they cannot measure. Pride. That fierce, stubborn Scottish pride. Scotland, you beautiful, unbreakable place. After 28 long summers, the world will finally hear your voice again”
