Scottish international bowlers come to Douglas
It’s not often that local club players get the chance to team up with top international stars for a day of competitive action.
But that is exactly what happened at Douglas Victoria Bowling Club on August 26, as 11 of Clydesdale’s 2010 club champions took part in the 21st Annual Clydesdale Sports Council International Ladies Bowls Tournament.
The players lined up with the current British Singles Champion Caroline Brown from Bellshill and Mossend Bowling Club, Scotland’s 2010 Commonwealth Games bowlers in Delhi, Margaret Letham (Burnbank Hamilton BC), Claire Johnston (Auchinleck BC), Lorraine Malloy (Deans BC) and the other international bowlers who helped Scotland win the British Isles Championship.
