Lance Corporal Ross Adamson (20), of the 4th Fallingbostel, Germany, was chosen for the fast paced Alpine discipline due to his high fitness levels and impressive performances displayed during six weeks of training at the French ski resort Val d’lsere.

Ross, who reached speeds of up to 70mph on the slopes in races ranging from 7.5km to 15km, said: “Being here and competing in this event has been brilliant. I also went scuba diving in Malta last year which again was brilliant.”
