The school received the accolade from His Royal Highness at finals day of the Badminton Scotland Scottish Open Grand Prix at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

Mr Maxwell told ExtraSport: “I was really proud of our badminton players for winning but it was made doubly special by the fact that HRH Prince Edward, the patron of Badminton Scotland, presented the award.”

Badminton Scotland honours a school each month in recognition of those which offer pupils outstanding badminton opportunities.

Eastwood high has an extensive badminton programme which is continuing to grow, with almost 100 pupils attending weekly sessions.
