The Glasgow Tigers track is hosting this year’s Ben Fund Bonanza - the traditional curtain raiser to the season which also raises money for the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.

Headline act is former speedway Grand Prix star Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris, a past British Grand Prix winner.

The spectacular Cornishman will be joined by a series of other stars from Australia, Finland, Denmark and the UK who will complete an exciting field.

Harris, a former World No 6 who spent a decade at the top of the sport - says he can’t wait to return to a track he loves to ride.

He scored 14 points as Glasgow took on Elite League Coventry to open the 2016 campaign.

He said: “I’ve been in a few Bonanzas. Obviously it’s a good cause for the injured riders, you don’t want to see riders get injured but it’s part of the sport and it’s nice that it can help out when it is necessary.

“Touch wood, I’ve never had to have any assistance from the Ben Fund myself.

“I enjoyed it at Glasgow last year, it’s a nice shape and well prepared, so hopefully I can do the same again and have some fun.”

Sunday’s meeting gets under way at 2pm.

The completed field is: Claus Vissing, Thomas Jorgensen, Lewis Bridger, Aaron Summers, Kevin Doolan, James Sarjeant, Steve Worrall, David Howe, Richard Lawson, Ben Barker, Ricky Wells, Richie Worrall, Stuart Robson, Chris Harris, Max Clegg and Nike Lunna.
