Stars come out to golf at Lanark

FORMER SFA supremo Gordon Smith, ex-Great Britain athlete Brian Whittle and former Scotland winger Pat Nevin were just three of the famous names who played in the 24th annual Clydesdale Sports Council Celeb-Am at Lanark Golf Club.

Whittle was one of four celebrities who recorded a top score of 29 stableford points in the individual competition won by BBC news correspondent John Morrison.

“It always adds something to this event if there is an exciting and close finish,” said organiser Colin McKendrick of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture.
