Stig Blomqvist to compete on Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally
THE ‘original’ Stig is set to captivate and excite Scottish rally fans on October 1, following confirmation that he will compete on the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally.
Stig Blomqvist – the 1984 world champion who (unlike his namesake), does not appear weekly on hit BBC TV show Top Gear – will return to the Perthshire forest he previously visited during the 1970s and 80s.
The Swedish legend will be behind the wheel of a new MkII Ford Escort, owned and prepared by ex-world championship winning co-driver Phil Mills, at the event named after the late Lanark rally ace.
