Swimmers in top form at Falkirk

YOUNGSTERS from Cumbernauld Swimming Club were in top form at Falkirk mini-meet.

Hannah Frobisher bagged medals in the 50m fly, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. Her brother, Kris Frobisher then continued the excellent swimming in the afternoon by getting medals in 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle resulting in Kris getting top boy in the 11-year-olds. The 7-8 year old mixed relay received second place and 10-11 year old team received sixth place – good team work. A total of 29 new personal bests were also set at this meet – well done swimmers.

The older swimmers were also in action at the South Ayrshire meeting. The following swimmers won gold medals: Craig Addyman 400m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 50m freestyle; Lucy McGhee 400m freestyle, 200m butterfly; Andrew Irvine 100m butterfly. Silver medals: Lucy McGhee 200m freestyle; Lynsay Murray 200m backstroke; Sarah Frobisher 50m freestyle; Ryan Martin 200m breaststroke, 50m freestyle. Bronze medals: Jennifer Ward 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle; Adam Airlie 100m butterfly, 400m freestyle; Lucy McGhee 200m backstroke; Graeme McKinney 200m individual medley. A very successful swimming weekend for the club.
