Tannoch annual festive show is a real Christmas treat

There was an excellent turnout for the annual Christmas show at the Tannoch Stables in Cumbernauld with more than 100 entries for the showing and dressage competition.

Judged by Karen Dawson, the event featured 14 classes throughout the day with competitors from four to 60 years of age proving that equestrian sports have a broad appeal.

Overall show champion was Prancer ridden by Rebecca Hind, achieving the highest scores on the day and prompting Karen to comment: “This horse has amazing potential and is one to watch, closely followed by Smartie as overall second.”

Stables proprietor Dawn Harrison said: “We had a great day. My thanks to judge Karen Dawson, to all helpers, scorers and gate monitors, and a huge well done to all of the riders.”

Results were:

Class 1:1st, Murray Blair - Princess; 2nd, Kayla Carty - Elsa; 3rd, Erin Semple - Toby.

Class 2: (Riding Pony): 1st, Timo Dobson - Nice Surprise; 2nd, Caroline Peffers - Sam; 3rd, Kayla Carty - Elsa.

Class 3: (Horse tack & turnout): 1st, Emma Cumming - Aladdin; 2nd, Natalia Miller - Princess; 3rd, Jane Meney - Ultimo.

Class 5: 1st, Mia Cook - Toby; 2nd, Lauren Shaw - Lulu; 3rd, Rhiannon Imrie - Kira.

Class 6: 1st, Pauline Law - Ultimo; 2nd, Lorraine Buchanan - Cinders; 3rd, Aly Shaw - Sugar.
