The pace hots up again

The Inter Club Leagues were completed just prior to January with the most successful Cumbernauld club team being the ladies who finished runners up to Coatbridge who had come down from the National Premier League.

January was quite a quiet month at the club, but now we are in February the pace hots up again with internal competitions and the start of the Glasgow and District competitions where all sections are competing.

In the preliminary rounds there were some notable successes for the club.

Gents singles: D. Geal won 21-3 v Clydebank. Senior singles: W. Gillon won 23-2 v Whiteinch. Ladies singles: S. Allan lost 14-21 v East Kilbride. Gents pairs lost 12-14 v Whiteinch. Ladies pairs won 12-11 v East Kilbride. Gents fours won 23-9 v Blantyre.

There is an added incentive for all the teams to reach the finals as the venue is our own stadium in March, so good luck to all our players.

This weekend the stadium is host to the Ladies and Gents National fours competitions up to the quarter-final stages, entry is free, so why not come along and see the best teams in Scotland.

If you are interested in having a go at indoor bowling the stadium is open to non-members, no experience is necessary, equipment is available for use at no extra charge and you will be made most welcome. Phone Lorraine on 01236 727852 for availability of rinks.
