Proud mum Linda said: “She trains on average 11 hours per week and is always smiling and is so hardworking and enthusiastic. She wouldn’t be achieving at this level without the dedication and support of her coaches who are just fabulous and put in so much time and effort.”

Amy is hoping to attend School of Sport next year.

Meanwhile Lewis Todd and Rachael Auld from Allander Gymnastics Club also enjoyed success.

Boclair Academy pupil Lewis (11) took the Scottish title at National Development Grade 1 level while nine-year-old Westerton Primary pupil Rachael placed sixth in her first competition.

A club coach said: “This was a particularly fitting end to a great year for Lewis who placed fifth in Britain in July, while Rachael did very well for her first tumbling competition.”
