UFC star gearing up for Polish fight

LANARK’S Joanne Calderwood is gearing up to compete at a thrilling Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event in Krakow, Poland, this Saturday, April 11.

The undefeated ‘Jo Jo’ – who beat Seohee Ham on her UFC debut in December – will take on debutant Maryna Moroz (5-0) at the UFC’s first ever show in Poland.

Joanne, who has a big summer show at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow looming, is desperate to impress a packed Polish crowd.

She said: “It’s a really nice bonus that there’s so many people out there that support me. But it’s not just that they support me; they like me. They like my personality, how hard I work and the way I carry myself and that’s the most important thing.”
