United secretary Tam Anderson said: "It was a deserved win against Auchinleck.

"There was a fair amount of jumping up and down done by the players and fans after the headed winner by Davy Gray with just three minutes left!

"The team were definitely well up for the game and it's the best they've played for a while.

"Davy Gray and Tommy Lennox were outstanding in defence and, in midfield, Grant Cuthill and Tom Hanlon were at their best.

"The rest of the team responded and hopefully they can produce the same at Irvine."
