The three, along with Edinburgh’s Alexandra Hunter, dominated their under-18 matches against Ireland and Wales in Cardiff last weekend.

And their success was a major contribution to Scotland taking the overall title from the competition which also featured matches at 14 and under and 12 and under levels.

The under-18s were captained by coach Toby Smith, brother of British Davis Cup captain Leon.

Against Ireland on the Saturday all three won their singles matches. Ewen defeated Morgan Lohan 6-4 6-2, Aidan beat Peter Corrie 6-4 6-1 and Maia was a 6-4 5-7 10-4 winner over Jennifer Timotin.

Ewen and Aidan also beat Corrie and Lohan 2-6 6-1 11-9 in the doubles while Maia and Alexandra Hunter had a walkover.

It was a similar story in the singles against hosts Wales on the Sunday. Ewen beat James Story 6-3 6-4, Aidan beat Tiarnan Brady 6-7 6-3 10-8 and Maia weas given a 6-0 6-0 victory when he opponent Eleanor Scarff (Wales).

Ewen and Aidan suffered their only defeat of the weekend in the doubles, losing narrowly 6-3 1-6 7-10 to Brady and Story while Maia and Alexandra were 6-1 6-2 winners over Scarff and Morgan Cross.
