‘We could have scored more’

McDonald got the rout under way after 15 minutes as he lashed a half volley into the net after Declan Gallagher headed down a John Sweeney corner.
McDonald said: “We’re delighted with scoring seven, but we should have kept a clean sheet and it’s disappointing we switched off after the fourth, and could even have scored a lot more with the number of chances we created.

“Even if we’d stopped after I’d scored the first we’d have accepted it because it’s three points regardless and that’s the main thing, but it’s good to give the goal difference a boost as well.

“From my own point of view it was good to get on the scoresheet as I hadn’t struck in a while, and that’s myself and Liam Cusack both with three league goals now, so we’re starting to build a good partnership.”
“The main thing is maybe this will lay down a marker to the other side in the division, we know they all like coming to Broadwood as we have a great pitch and good facilities.
“However, with a bit of luck when they see this result it will make them a bit nervous about having to play here.”
