Whitey Moffat stays with Carluke Rovers

CARLUKE Rovers manager Whitey Moffat almost left the club — after the committee sacked his assistant Scott Duncan.

Scott, who had been Whitey's assistant for three seasons, was relieved of his duties last week.

The decision did not go down well and Whitey also considered his position, having been in charge of the Loch Park side for almost a decade.

After much deliberation he decided to remain at the club he has served as both a player and manager.

He said: "I was very disappointed and considered my position but, after a couple of days and several phone calls, I decided I had put a lot into the club.

"I've been here for 10 seasons as manager and thought that I should continue."
